Dreamland School and Dreamland Children’s Corner under the aegis of Dreamland Education Society is an English Medium, Institution established in 1973 Registered under W.B. societies registration act 1961. The school is open to all, irrespective of religion, caste or community, having three school premises – The High School building at 98, T.N. Mukherjee Road, Makhla, Hooghly ; The middle School building at Benepukurdhar, Makhla, and the Examination Hall with auditorium at Raghunathpur, all near to the Uttarpara, Railway Station .It is recognized by the Education Department of the Government of West Bengal andgot affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, in 1987 (ICSE) and 1999 (ISC).Dreamland School fulfils the vision of it’s founder Mr. Biswanath Chaterjee who dreamt of an institution with that could combine the concept of secularism and motivation to exel in all activities since it’s inception. The method of education followed in the school is modern day quality education which is highly interactive and student center.Within a short span of less than fifty years. Dreamland School has achieved and have set amark of appreciaton both in curricular and co-curricular activities. Presently Mr. Indranil Chaterjee who is the Principal and Secretary of the school is nurturing the seeds that once had been sowed by his father Mr. Bishwanath Chaterjee . The school has grown into a full bloomed tree with immense potential for further growth and expansion under the guidance of our beloved Principal . The school has highly qualified teaching staff, and efficient non-teaching staff. It has another unit in Bhadeshwar, Hooghly.
Admittance to the school is the sole discretion of the school authorities. New admissions from Nursery to class IX is open to all till middle of the session before half yearly examinations. Admissions to Class XI starts just after the board results of ICSE till one month. Admissions are based on the merit of the students and previous school records.

With the changing times , I introduce changes in the system of our school with the objective of making the students more serious in their studies throughout the year. The new system of assessing the copies to keep vigilance on their class work and home work has been implemented. The students will be compelled to make the lessons done regularly and be more attentive to studies throughout the year, since 50% weightage remains with the Unit Tests and Assessments and another 50% weightage lies with the two examinations, Half-Yearly andAnnua lExams.
I have already introduced N.C.C. (under the Ministry of Defence) in our School with lots of benefits to the students in their future career. I have made our school accredited to National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) for the benefit of the unsuccessful candidates in the Board exams. Through the different co curricular activities round the year in the forms of olympiads, Quiz, Craft Workshop, Tagore Fest, Freedom Fest, Winter Function, Sports etc, I want to ensure the holistic development of the children of my school.social services organized by school enhances social awareness of the students. Efforts are being made regularly for the upgraduation of school infrastructure including the audio-visual teaching aids from Nursery to XII. With the advent of the Pandemic situation across the world, the school has initiated a process of online learning and examinations. With the blessings of the Omnipotent I will continue to deliver service for my school and the community as it has been doing since 48years.

Dreamland School (AI No 220116) is affiliated to the NIOS for the last six years. NIOS that is National Institute of Open Schooling provides opportunity to the school dropouts and the unsuccessful candidates in ICSE and ISC Examination.
